How AI Can Unlock Creativity and Authenticity

Earlier this week, I wrote about Mark Cuban’s “Milli Vanilli Effect” and how AI-generated content could erode trust in what we see and hear. I argued that in a world overwhelmed by lip-synced, mass-produced media, the work that resonates will sit at either end of a U-shaped curve: using AI to scale ideas efficiently, or doubling down on authentic craftsmanship and human connection. The middle ground is where work becomes forgettable.
The article clearly resonated, becoming my most-read post ever with nearly 50,000 views. One of the most interesting points raised was whether the piece was written by AI. I loved this because it perfectly proved my point: it wasn’t written by AI, it was written with AI.
I had the original ideas, made the connections and formed the perspective, but I didn’t have to spend time on the painstaking task of writing every word myself. That distinction matters.
The real value I bring isn’t in crafting perfect prose; it’s in generating the ideas, insights and connections that only I can see. AI helps me get those thoughts out of my head and into the world faster and more clearly. Despite the existential dread around AI, it can be an unlock.
