Stranger Things: Tales From '85

At Flying Bark Productions, I’m the Visual Effects Supervisor on Netflix’s animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85. I’m leading teams across Australia, the United States, Europe, and Asia, with responsibility for visual-effects strategy, creative continuity, technical consistency, and delivery across a large-scale animated series. It is a huge, energising collaboration and I’m thrilled to be part of it.

The series returns to Hawkins in a new animated format, with the original characters facing a fresh supernatural mystery beneath the snow and ice of 1985. I love the central creative challenge: the work needs to feel recognisably part of the Stranger Things world while establishing a distinct animated visual language of its own.

Alongside supervision, I’m leading production innovation at Flying Bark. I’m exploring AI-assisted workflows, better production systems, and cross-functional collaboration that can help teams work more effectively without compromising storytelling or craft. For me, that intersection of creative leadership, workflow design, and pipeline thinking is where the future gets really interesting.
