I worked on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as a Computer Graphics Supervisor at Animal Logic, focusing on the stereo conversion for the film’s final release.
We worked closely with IMAX to give the finale the scale and visual impact expected of the format while keeping the technology subordinate to the story. The stereo treatment had to support the action without distracting from the characters or the emotional stakes of the Battle of Hogwarts.
That balance was especially important in bringing a once-in-a-generation story to its conclusion. The audience needed to remain focused on the human drama at the centre of the finale, with the technical work serving the experience rather than drawing attention to itself.
