About
Technology, creativity, and human systems
I’m a Sydney-based VFX Supervisor, CG leader and visual storyteller with more than 30 years of experience across feature films, animation, immersive media, product innovation and digital business. I bring deep technical knowledge together with creative judgement, helping teams turn ambitious ideas into high-end visual work at scale.
I began my career in the mid-1990s while studying Computer Science at the University of New South Wales. In 1996, I joined Animal Logic, first working on commercials before moving into feature film work, including The Matrix. I later moved to the United States, joining PDI/DreamWorks to work on Shrek, and then ESC Entertainment in San Francisco, where I contributed to The Matrix Reloaded, including the award-winning “Trailer Top Crash” sequence.
Returning to Australia in 2003, I rejoined Animal Logic as Lighting Supervisor on George Miller’s Happy Feet, leading a large team on the Academy Award-winning film. I later became Computer Graphics Supervisor, helping shape the studio’s pipeline, rendering and workflow systems during a major period of growth. Over the following years, I provided technical and creative leadership across projects including Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and The Great Gatsby.
In 2007, alongside my studio work, I co-founded Babyology, which grew into Australia’s leading digital media brand for the parenting market. As Co-Founder and CTO, I led technology, product, analytics and audience growth, helping scale the business over a decade before a successful exit in 2017. That chapter broadened my experience beyond production into entrepreneurship, strategy and innovation.
I have continued working at the intersection of storytelling and emerging technology. Through Mock Gravity, I have consulted on photogrammetry, real-time engines, machine learning and spatial computing, including work related to Apple Vision Pro. I also served as Head of 3D at Temple & Webster, where I led 3D and spatial innovation initiatives for large-scale eCommerce and AR experiences.
From 2022 to 2024, I returned to the entertainment industry, joining Industrial Light & Magic as Computer Graphics Supervisor in Sydney. I led CG teams on major productions including the Star Wars properties Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, and the live-action feature Lilo & Stitch. I am currently Visual Effects Supervisor at Flying Bark Productions, where I oversee visual effects for a major animated series, leading globally distributed teams across multiple regions and working closely with creatives, executives and technical teams to deliver stylised, high-volume screen content.
I studied photography at the University of California, Berkeley. I am a member of the Visual Effects Society and an Associate Member of the Australian Cinematographers Society. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in artificial intelligence.
